TI Georgia Director: There is a Clan-like Rule in the Georgian Court System

We can see that reforms have had no results. Today we have clans in the court system, we have a clan-like rule, that’s the facts. We can see that deserving individuals are not appointed in the courts -- and that’s exactly because of these clans. The judiciary is not managing to fulfill society’s demands [for a transparent judicial system -ed.], and the clans are getting stronger with the support of specific individuals and groups who are also in the ruling party and in government. This is a major problem which should be changed.
