Prime Minister won't be required to resign if he runs for MP candidacy

The Parliament passed the amendments to the election code by 79 votes, after third hearing. According to the amendments, the Prime Minister will not be required to resigned if he is to take part in the parliamentary eletions and register his candidancy as an MP. With the exiting legislation, the Prime Minister is required to resign within two days after he registered his candidancy for the membership of the Parliament. For the record, it has been announced that Prime Minister Kvirikashvili will be number first on the electoral list of the Georgian Dream party.
