Environment Minister leaves Republicans, staying with GD government

Gigla Agulashvili

Minister of Environment and Natural Resources Protection Gigla Agulashvili has left the Republican Party. Earlier today, it was announced that two Cabinet ministers from the Republican Party are resigning from their government posts. Agulashvili said that: “After consultations with the Prime Minister, I’ve decided to leave the Republican Party and remain in PM Giorgi Kvirikashvili’s governmental team. This choice hasn’t been painless, as I’ve been working with the Republican Party, but during the decision-making process I was driven by civic responsibility. I am well informed about the future plans of the Prime Minister and his team, and I am absolutely certain in my decision, as it is connected to Georgia’s stable development and the welfare of every single citizen. Naturally, it’s a great honour for me to continue my work in the governmental team together with the Georgian Dream, and contribute further to the development of my country.”
