Paata Burchuladze’s electoral bloc “State for the People” has promised to cut taxes and reduce bureaucracy as part of its newly unveiled economic programme.
Zurab Japaridze, a member of the bloc’s economic team, said that in reducing bureaucracy, poorer sections of society will be able to receive more substantial and targeted financial aid. Plans to decriminalize economic crime were also unveiled as part of the plans.
The economic plan consists of a selection of policies drawn from the manifestos of the three parties which make up the bloc. Since Burchuladze was joined by the New Rights Party, Girchi and Vashadze’s party, the bloc has promised public service reforms, tax reductions and to make it easier to start new businesses.
