The company E-Space is planning to open 100 electric vehicle charging points throughout the country. In the initial stage, charging points will allow owners of electric cars to recharge their vehicles for free. Project partner, construction company M², aims to promote ecological awareness, the health of the environment and the use of electric vehicles in the country.
Tbilisi’s first electric vehicle charging stations opened on November 6. So far, 50 electric cars have been registered in Georgia.
Imports of electric cars to Georgia are tax free. There are an estimated 50 electric cars in use. By 2017, plans are in place to roll out 100 electric vehicle charging stations on highways and in regions across Georgia.
