According to ABC news, Trump’s lawyer, Alan Garten, stated on Friday that developers in Georgia failed to meet terms of licensing deals.
“. . . Garten said the president-elect's company sent a "default notice" earlier this month to the developer because it had not lived up to terms of the licensing deal.”
Trump’s lawyer himself described it as a typical first step for cancelling deals.
On April 22, 2012, the presentation of the first Trump tower in the region was held. The presentation was attended by the third president of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili and billionaire Donald Trump. According to the initial project, the 47 - floor Trump tower was supposed to be constructed by the end of 2014.
After winning the 2016 Presidential elections in the US, the founder of Silk Road Group, Giorgi Ramishvili stated that the project will definitely be implemented and that he would speak of further details in January.
The total expected cost of the 47 - floor Trump tower was 250 million US dollars.
ABC also reported that in order to avoid conflict of interests, the president - elect has chosen to withdraw from certain business relations. In the beginning of December, the Trump Organization closed down four large offices in Delaware, which allegedly had close ties with Saudi Arabia.
