The presidential candidate from the Georgian Dream coalition, Giorgi Margvelashvili, who now serves as the education minister and vice-premier, has advised President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili to set a date of presidential elections. Margvelashvili told journalists on 13 June that the president finds it very difficult to put up with the fact that he will have to leave the post.
"President finds it very difficult to put up with the fact that he is leaving the post; this is manifested in president's vetoing any action we undertake or conducting special events. Let him get used to the fact that he is leaving. Let him admit the defeat and set a date of presidential elections; this may then make that process easier for him," said Margvelashvili.
The presidential elections in Georgia are scheduled for autumn.
