United National Movement named Davit Bakradze, Giorgi Baramidze, Zurab Japaridze and Shota Malashkhia as candidates for the Party's Presidential primaries. Speaking at a special briefing on june 29 at UNM office, member of the Parliamentary minority, Giorgi Vashadze said that "despite serious political pressure" the Party did not refuse to hold primaries throughout Georgia. Vashadze expressed hope that "regardless the assaults, the pre-election activities will take place in a normal environment."
Vashadze said online voting will be launched from 1 July and all citizens eligible to vote will be able to participate after registration. Presidential candidate of the National Movement will be named by the end of July.
