"We must drive the United National Movement out of the government in every city, every region and every village once and for all," Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili said when addressing voters in Batumi on 9 June. According to him, after the 2008 August war, the former government received 4.5 billion USD in aid but spent that money on the whims of one person, Mikheil Saakashvili, instead of ensuring basic conditions for population.
"That's why the people delivered its verdict to the United National Movement and voted against it [in October 2012 parliamentary elections]. That is why the upcoming local election is very important and we, together with you, must drive the United National Movement out of the government in every city, every region and every village once and for all. Today they try to deceive people again, but people will not be deceived just like they were not deceived during the parliamentary elections and entrusted the fate of the country to our political force – the Georgian Dream," Prime Minister said.
