Erosi Kitsmarishvili found dead at his house in centre of Tbilisi


Erosi Kistmarishvili, the former candidate running for the position of Mayor of Rustavi in the recent local elections, has been found dead in his car in the garage of his house in the center of Tbilisi.

According to the Interior Ministry, a gun was found in his car.

Erosi Kitsmarishvili was the founder of Rustavi 2 TV company, the telecommunications company Georgia Online (currently Caucasus Online) and the managing company of Maestro TV channel. He was the publisher of Georgian newspaper 24 Hours, the president of Georgian Chamber of Trade and Commerce and Georgia’s ambassador to Russia. Kitsmarishvili was also the founder and political secretary of the political movement, Georgian Party.

On 10 May 2014, Erosi Kitsmarishvili got registered as a candidate to run for the position of Mayor of Rustavi from the Our Georgia party in the local elections recently held in Georgia.
