The Prime Minister of Georgia nominated Mikheil Giorgadze as a Minister of Culture and Monument Protection on 23 July. "The public knows him as a successful manager in culture sphere and as author of many successful projects. He is a General Manager at Eastern Promotion, member of the Board of Directors at Tbilisi Concert Hall, General Producer at the Georgian Public Broadcaster, Culture Management Project Consultant at London BRP Production, Advisor at the Economic Department of the Georgian Cabinet of Ministers," PM Irakli Garibashvili said in a statement on Wednesday.
According to the Prime Minister, Mikheil Giorgadze has "wide contacts" with the representatives of the culture sphere abroad, which, the PM said will help "popularisation" of the Georgian culture worldwide. The PM stressed that the Georgian public had been expecting the nomination of the candidate for the Culture Ministry with a "special interest", which, according to Garibashvili indicates that the cultures sphere is "one of the most important" in the country.
