Foreign Minister of Georgia, Maia Panjikidze said "former Prime Minister of Georgia, Bidzina Ivanishvili, apparently, gives the same assessment as I did," referring to the dispute between the President of Georgia, Giorgi Margvelashvili and government over the upcoming visit to UN.
"My position over sending two delegations to UN is already known. You are aware that, not only due to the fact that sending two delegations from a poor country is costly, but also due to other awkwardnesses, I always believed that sending two delegations would not be correct," Panjikidze said on 11 September.
The Kviris Palitra newspaper published an interview with Bidzina Ivanishvili, where the ex-PM said "Georgia is a parliamentary republic already and the question on who should go to UN does not exist", adding that it is as clear as "two times two is four that the PM should attend the UN session."
Earlier on Thursday it was reported that the President's visit to US was cancelled.
