MIA: Shot fired at patrol police crew from occupied Tskhinvali region


A shot was fired in the direction of a patrol police crew of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia (MIA) from the Tskhinvali region on 10 August, a statement released by the MIA said.

"At 10:45 on 10 August, unidentified armed persons from the occupied Tskhinvali region fired a shot in the direction of a patrol police crew of the MIA, moving along the occupational line on the Georgian-controlled territory in the village of Kveshi, Gori district. The EUMM representatives were on the scene during the incident and by means of a hot line, operating with the EUMM mediation, the situation was settled shortly.

No one was injured during the incident. The MIA strongly condemns the mentioned provocative act and calls on each and every party involved in meeting of the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident," the MIA statement reads.
